The Dundas Valley School of Art is having their 39th annual art auction. I have been submitting my art there for many years and have successfully sold many pieces. For this years auction I have created a ceramic tropical fish, fired and painted with acrylics. This sea creature can be displayed in your home and will never require feeding or fresh water. I look forward to creating more whimsical clay beasties in the near future.

I remember many moons ago, when I attended the Dundas Valley School of Art, I was asked to take a canvas umbrella and think of something creative to paint on it for the annual school art auction. Well, I decided to paint these pig faces in different expressions so that when the umbrella was spun it would look like the pig was rapidly changing his mood...animated. The night before the auction the CHCH local news weatherman used my umbrella to forecast that days weather and gave publicity for the event. I was proud to see it being used live on tv and I'm happy to say, it did sell to the highest bidder...I am blushing now.

It was one of those days when I got a little sketchy and my art pad was getting filled with spontaneous doodles. I started to draw up some characters in the usual pencil, outlined them in black marker and in a duplicate version throw in a bit of colour using photoshop. More to come my friends.

This panel cartoon was created for a local medical clinic. The doctor who is a specialist in head trauma patients, thought this was an appropriate picture to hang on his office wall, next to a painting of a swimming orca by Robert Bateman...go figure...two blow holes on one wall.

Jellyfish Sketch

I enjoy sketching many sea creatures that inhabit the waters of the world. This jellyfish was inspired by a vacation I went on while swimming off the island of Mykonos in Greece. I came pretty close to getting stung as it brushed up against my side, and that wouldn't have been a good thing. Fortunately for me this blob of tentacaled goo was no longer alive, and I was able to continue my vacation without a trip to the hospital.
